Because of our participation in this contest, we have been thinking very deliberately about how to create engaging content and use new digital media effectively.
While there are many complex and varied strategies for developing your audience we come back again and again to value of keywords.
The sheer volume of content being shared on social media sites is daunting. Well over half a million pieces of content are shared on Facebook every minute. That’s only one metric. Check out this infograph from Dumo for more mind boggling figures.
Having your keywords in line will help get your content in front of the people who will most appreciate reading it. And a quick and easy way to do this? Hashtags.
Hashtags have long been the norm for sites like Instagram, Twitter and even Google+, but now it appears that even Facebook is getting on the bandwagon. “Hashtags are just the first step to help people [and businesses] more easily discover what others are saying about a specific topic and participate in public conversations,” wrote Facebook’s Greg Lindley.
However, just because hashtags are easy to deploy doesn’t mean they are are easy to deploy well. Just like when optimizing SEO, be sure to keep in mind your company’s overall marketing strategy. Overflooding your audience with superfluous hashtags can bury your marketing message.
If you need help in using hashtags, keywords, or other social media tools (new or old), Bumblebee PA stands by to help.
